Castel Fogliano and hermitage of San Famiano, Faleria

Castel Fogliano and hermitage of San Famiano, Faleria

In the Montultimo forest, along the road leading to Calcata, there are the remains of Castel Fogliano, an abandoned Medieval village. The ruins of the tower, those of the church and parts of rupestrian houses are still visible.

Castel Fogliano used to be part of the dominions of the Anguillara family.

At a short distance, heading down the ravine, there is the Eremo di San Famiano, a two-storey cave that used to be the hermitage of San Famiano.
